LivionKey30 / LivionKey30 Outdoor: Device in error state (out of order)

This article provides instructions what you should do when your device goes to error state (out of order alarm activates).

Device may go to error state, if it encounters such error which it cannot fix itself. In that case "Out of order" -alarm activates. When device is in error state, device says "I'm out of order" and the led in the front panel is red. The device cannot be used normally until it's recovered from the error state.

Important!

When the device goes to error state, system sends automatically email to defined recipients. The message includes information of the reason of the error state. It's very important that recipients are defined for alarm messages!

1. Out of order: door

If device goes to error state due to door, the reason could be

  • Key is inserted badly to the locker so that it prevents the door to close.

  • Locker is too full or keys are in tension between locker back wall and door, so that door cannot be opened.

  • The calibration of the door is not correct.

  • The door mechanics are broken or jammed.

Door cannot be closed

If your device is in error state because the door cannot be closed, please do the following:

  1. Visit the device and check that there's no key blocking the door.

  2. Restart device remotely from the web page. After restart, the door should be closed automatically and device can be used again.

  3. If the door isn't closed after restart, please remove the device from the wall bracket or from the outdoor enclosure and check the door mechanism visually.

  4. If the door mechanism is visibly ok and there's nothing which prevents door to close inside the device, please restart the device from the power switch.

    The power switch is located on the circuit board and you can reach it from the back side of the device. When you restart device again, it may few several minutes before it establishes the connection to system and comes online.

  5. If the restart doesn't help, please contact technical support and provide the device ID or name and detailed problem description.

Door cannot be opened

If your device is in error state because the door cannot be opened, please do the following:

  1. Restart device remotely from the web page.

  2. Try open some locker remotely from web page or locally by entering pin-code. If the door opens normally, device is ok.

  3. If the door isn't opened after restart and error occurs again, remove the device from the wall bracket or from the outdoor enclosure and check the door mechanism visually.

  4. If the door mechanism is visibly ok and there's nothing which prevents the door to open inside the device, please restart the device from the power switch.

    The power switch is located on the circuit board and you can reach it from the back side of the device. When you restart device again, it may few several minutes before it establishes the connection to system and comes online.

  5. When device is restarted, try open the locker once again.

  6. If the error still occurs, please remove the key drum to loose stuck keys or keys in tension.

  7. Mount the key drum back to device and restart it from the power switch. If the error still occurs, please contact technical support and provide the device ID or name and detailed problem description.

2. Out of order: camera

Device has 2 cameras which are used for driving the key drum and detecting if there's key in the locker or not. Sometimes cameras may have temporary malfunctions and if device cannot recover from those by itself, it goes to error state.

If your device is in error state because of camera failure, please do the following:

  1. Restart device remotely from web page.

  2. If camera errors continue to occur after restart, please contact technical support and provide the device ID or name and detailed problem description.

3. Out of order: wrong locker

If device cannot drive the key drum to correct locker, it will go to error state. The error can be a temporary malfunction or there are keys stuck or in tension in lockers.

If your device is in error state because of "wrong locker", please do the following:

  1. Restart device remotely from web page.

  2. Test that you can drive the key drum to desired locker e.g. by opening some locker.

  3. If the error occurs again, please remove the device from the wall bracket or from the outdoor enclosure.

  4. Remove the key drum to loose stuck keys and mount it back to device.

  5. Mount the key drum back to device and restart it from the power switch. If the error still occurs, please contact technical support and provide the device ID or name and detailed problem description.

4. Out of order: other

In addition to door, camera and wrong locker errors, there are some exception errors which may occur in the device. If such occurs, restart device remotely from the web page. If the error occurs after restart, please contact technical support and provide the device ID or name and detailed problem description.
