What is a Return Code?
The Return Code is an optional numeric code that can be associated with a key within the LivionKey Register. Its primary purpose is to allow designated individuals (such as staff or cleaning services) to return a key to a LivionKey Automat without needing a contract-specific Pincode.
How and When to Define a Return Code?
Return Codes are specifically for keys stored in LivionKey Automats.
You can define a Return Code when you are:
Creating a new key.
Updating an existing key.
Look for the "Return Code" field in the key creation or editing interface.
Key Benefits and Security
The Return Code offers a convenient way to manage key returns, especially for operational staff:
Simplified Key Returns: It enables quick and easy key returns to a LivionKey Automat without requiring knowledge of the contract's Pincode.
Not Contract or Person-Specific: Unlike the Contract Key Pincode, the Return Code is not tied to a specific contract or individual. This makes it ideal for general staff, cleaning services, or other personnel who need to return keys.
Secure Return Mechanism: For security, the LivionKey Automat will only accept the Return Code when the locker associated with the key is empty. This ensures that the Return Code can solely be used for returning keys, preventing unauthorized key retrieval.
Integration with LivionKey Keypads
For enhanced convenience and access control, if your LivionKey Automats are associated with LivionKey Keypads, you can enable the synchronization of Return Codes to these Keypads.
When enabled, the Return Code can also be used to:
Access the area where the LivionKey Automat is installed by entering the return code into the keypad.
This provides a dual function, allowing authorized staff to both return keys and gain access to the automat's location using a single code.
To enable the Return Code sync to LivionKey Keypads:
Log in to LivionKey Register as an Admin user.
Head to the Organization view.
Access the "Devices" tab.
Locate the "Return code sync" toggle and enable it.
