Backup Codes

  • Purpose: Backup codes are used when a key needs to be fetched or returned but there's no valid contract or the device is unreachable remotely (e.g. due to network issues).

  • Generation: Each key has its own unique backup codes. The codes are generated automatically when the key is created.

How to view and generate new codes:

  • You can find the current codes for key in 'Contract view' of the key

  • The new codes are generated by clicking 'Update backupcodes' -button

Important!

  • LivionKey30: Backup codes can only be used once. New codes must be generated manually afterwards.

  • LivionKeyOne: A new backup code is generated automatically after one is used (requires restored internet connection and proper device function).

Conclusion

You can fetch or return the key from the device with backup code when the device cannot be reached remotely and there is no valid contract.
