Guesty integration with LivionKey20

In this article, you'll learn how to configure Guesty to integrate seamlessly with LivionKey20 for iLOQ S5.

Guesty is a property management platform designed to help property managers streamline operations, automate tasks, and efficiently manage short-term rentals.

LivionKey20 and Guesty integration provides fully automated iLOQ S5 key management for tenants. Key features include:

  • Mapping Guesty properties to iLOQ accessrights in LivionKey.

  • Automatic syncing of new reservations from Guesty to LivionKey, which generates a PIN code and adds it to Guesty. This PIN code and the Key Automat address can be included in Guesty messaging automation to instruct tenants on key pick-up and return.

  • Updating Guesty guest stay status to "checked_in" when a customer retrieves a key.

  • Updating Guesty guest stay status to "checked_out" when a customer returns a key

  • Use LivionKey message automation to inform cleaners when keys are returned, enabling them to prepare the property promptly for the next guests.

Requirements

  • An active Guesty account with existing properties.

  • Installed LivionKey20 Key Automat filled with S5 keys.

Step 1: Create Guesty API Credentials

  • In Guesty, navigate to Integrations β†’ OpenAPI.

    • Click New Application.

    • Enter:

      • Name: LivionKey

      • Description: Key automation with LivionKey

    • Copy the generated Client ID and Client Secret.

Step 2: Add Credentials to LivionKey

  • In LivionKey, select Guesty Integration from left menu.

    • Paste your Client ID and Client Secret, then press Save changes; LivionKey will validate the connection.

    • Click Activate integration.

Step 3: Map Listings with iLOQ accessrights

  • In LivionKey, select Guesty Integration β†’ Configuration β†’ iLOQ Access Rights Mapping.

  • Choose a Key Automat and Access rights for each listing.

πŸ’‘ LivionKey will automatically pick available S5 key for Guesty listings reservation. Access rights will be programmed to Key when Tenant enters pincode.

If you have ongoing or upcoming reservations for a listing, click Sync Reservations to fetch all reservations from Guesty, automatically create key contracts in LivionKey, and update the corresponding PIN codes back to Guesty.

Step 4: Set Up Messaging Automation

πŸ’‘ Tip: Create a "Livion" tag in Guesty and assign it to all listings managed through LivionKey. This enables precise targeting for automated messages.

Follow these steps:

  • Create a new messaging automation flow or duplicate an existing one.

  • Add the "Livion" tag as a filter to this messaging automation.

  • Update your existing messaging automations by excluding the "Livion" tag to prevent overlap.

You can include these LivionKey variables in your automated messages:

Please do not store your keys in the Key Automat during your stay.
Returning the key will automatically check you out. Thank you!

⚠️ Important: For Check-In instructions, add the condition LivionKeySyncStatus to ensure the Check-In message is sent only after the PIN code has been successfully updated in Guesty.

Example Check-out Instructions:

Tomorrow is your checkout day at {{checkout_time}}. 
Please return your key to the Key Automat located at:
{{livionkeyaddress}} PIN Code: {{livionkeypincode}}

Step 5: Notifications for Key Return

LivionKey updates Guesty’s guest stay status automatically upon key return. However, at the time of writing, Guesty currently doesn't trigger automatic internal notifications for key returns, you can configure LivionKey to send notifications:

  • In Livionkey. Select Organization from the left menu.

  • Click the Notifications tab.

  • Add Additional receivers for notifications (email or SMS).

  • Choose Key returned (key automat) notification type.

Step 6: Test the Integration

Create a manual reservation in Guesty and test the full integration and messaging workflow.

Troubleshooting

If issues arise, check the Activity and Reservations views under Guesty Integration in LivionKey to diagnose the problem.
