Adding a Mechanical Key to a Locker

Before handing over a key, ensure it's available in the Key Automat. For mechanical keys, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Lockers Section: In the Key Automat view, go to the "Lockers" section.

  2. Create Key:

    • Click the "Create Key" button.

    • Name: Enter an optional name for the key (e.g., "Apartment 101 Main Door").

    • KeyID: Enter a mandatory, unique ID for the key within your organization.

  3. Open Locker and Insert Key:

    • After creating the key, click the "Open Locker" button to remotely open the desired locker.

    • Place the mechanical key inside the Key Automat.

Tip: You can also add a mechanical key from the "Keys" view, by selecting a key automat as the selected storage

Handing Over the Key

Once the key is in the Key Automat, you can proceed with the standard key handover process:

  1. Initiate Handover: From the "Keys" list, click on the key you want to hand over and press "Handover key."

  2. Provide Details:

    • Keys and Location: Specify which keys will be handed over and from which Key Automat.

    • Duration: Set the start and end dates for the contract (or choose "Permanent contract" for ongoing access).

    • Recipient: Enter the contact information of the person receiving the keys. You can also choose to send them a notification about the handover.

    • Notification Method & Custom Message (Optional): Select how to notify the recipient (email or SMS) and add a personalized message.

    • Preview Notification: Review the message before sending it.

  3. Collect Signature (if needed): If contract signing is enforced, obtain the recipient's signature electronically or via SMS.

  4. Confirmation: Once the contract is signed (if required), a receipt with all agreed-upon terms and the Pincode will be sent to the recipient.

The pincode will be valid for the duration of the contract.
